It is a robust Learning Management System that enables companies and educational institutions to create and deliver learning online. Whether your intention is simply to put manuals online or to deliver media-rich curricula (video, audio, web conferences) the GLS will meet your needs. This product was designed to be intuitive to both novice learners (the notebook feature allows creation of paper based notes) and the experienced e-learner who may wish to take advantage of a non-linear approach to learning.
The GLS is a flexible application that can accommodate a multitude of curricula (learning paths) and deliver the appropriate curriculum to each unique learner (determined by learner’s login).
Whether learning from home or the workplace, learners can move through course material at their own pace, from any computer, anywhere. Features Benefits QQ2Learners are provided a username and password to access their online training. If a learner is not registered in the GLS, they must click on the ‘Online Course Registration’ link. Course Registration- Here Learners can register for courses which they wish to take part in. All learner set-up information and payment details are sent to the GLS System Administrator through secure email. Once successfully logged into the GLS, a personalized message from the learner’s coach will appear. The Home Page provides a visual learning path, depicting all relevant courses in their curriculum with a brief description of the content of each course. Learners access course content from the Home Page - the visual learning path acts as the learner's main navigation. At the bottom of the page a learner can refer to a timetable to use as a guideline for the completion their course. Lesson page enables Learners to view current lessons in their particular Course. Unit page enables Learners to view the units in a particular Lesson. Notes can be taken within Units, to help Learners keep track of what they are learning. Bookmarks can be set so that a Learner is not required to remember where they left off from a Unit or Lesson. The 'My Coach' feature introduces the learner to the manager, administrator or teacher who monitors the learner’s progress. The FAQ system allows learners to benefit from a self-serve environment that answers questions pertaining to their course and curriculum. 'My Notebook' enables learners to make quick digital notes that are printable. This helps learners who are accustomed to traditional paper-based learning and learners who need to synthesize information in their own words. 'My Progress' offers a real-time report card so learners can continually assess their advancement through the curriculum. 'My Messenger' supports two avenues of communication in the e-learning environment; firstly between the learner and their coach and secondly between the learner with their peers. The 'Learning Community' feature allows learners to interact with others following the same learning path through a web board system. The ‘My Mail’ feature allows learners to communicate with their coach privately through the GLS. Administrative Features: Administrator Login Screen with Navigation Menu on the left with Coaching and Admin, System Reports, Course Admin and System Configuration Sections for the administrator to access. Under Coaching and Admin Section -Add Group – This is where the GLS Administrator can add groups, so learners can easily be organised. Under Add Learner, the System Administrator can add a new Learner into the GLS and assign them to a group and a coach. The System Administrator can also assign the Learner with an expiry date for that particular account. Under Add Coach, the System Administrator can add a new coach complete with a biography, contact info, office hours, email address and a photo. Here the System Administrator can assign Learners to the newly created coach. Under Course Developer, the System Administrator can assign the Course Developer a username and password, email address, comments (if any), and assign the Course Developer to one or many courses. My Learners feature allows coaches, and the System Administrator to easily search for Learners under different criteria such as: Name, Group, Current Course, Current Lesson, Certificates awarded or not, Access to E-Learning and Complete Present Course. Under My Learner the coach has the ability to review or modify Learners profile. Under Report Card – Coaches can review Learner’s progress through a Course and a Lesson. Coaches also have the ability to award a digital certificate to graduate a learner from a course. As well Coaches have the ability to advance a learner from one course to another. The Note Feature allows Coaches to create individual or group messages upon Learner’s login to GLS. My Messenger Feature allows the Coach to communicate to all Learners on an individual basis. The Coach is also alerted to new messages being posted and the number of messages posted. When composing a message to a Learner the Coach has a WYSIWYG editor to aid them in their message composition, they can also attached files for further assistance to the Learner. Under the Learning Community, a Coach can respond to message threads to individual Learners and also post a message to everyone in a Course. The Coach can also remove inappropriate or inaccurate message threads. Total System Report Feature allows the System Administrator to view a summary of learners in the GLS, summary of curricula (courses) and a summary of coaches. The Messenger Report Feature allows the System Administrator to view number of messages in the My Messenger System as well as the response time on a per course and per coach basis. The GLS also generates detailed reports on each individual learner within the GLS. The Coach Activity Feature allows the System Administrator to keep track of all Coaches actions, from email responses to response time. To get the report on Coach Activity, select the Coach from the Coach drop down. To get the report on the entire time span, please leave the Start date and End date fields empty. The data is kept for 365 days. Any tracking older than the period is automatically deleted. The Active Learner Report Feature allows the System Administrator to view a summary of Learners in the System in a per week basis. As well the report shows the number of active learners within a particular course. The Login Tracking Report Feature allows the System Administrator to track the login activity per course or per learner within the GLS. The Currently Online Report Feature allows the System Administrator to view which learners are currently online (or in the past 20 minutes). The Add Course feature allows a course to be added to the GLS. In this section the name of the course can be added, the course can be linked to a lesson, tracked, have messenger capabilities and the course information can be inputted in a WYSIWYG editor. The List Course feature allows the Course Developer and System Administrator to have all courses currently in the GLS to be displayed. Here the Course Developer and System Administrator can edit courses as well. In the Add Lesson feature the Course Developer and System Administrator can assign a new lesson to a course, provide an objective for the lesson and use the WYSIWYG to format the text for the content of the lesson. A logo can also be added as well the lesson can be highlighted in a unique colour.
The List Lesson feature allows the Course Developer and System Administrator to have all lessons currently in the GLS to be displayed. Here the Course Developer and System Administrator can edit lessons as well.
The Search Lesson feature allows the Course Developer and System Administrator to search for a particular lesson in the GLS. The Add Unit feature allows the Course Developer and System Administrator to add content to a unit. The unit can be added to a lesson(s). Within the WYSIWYG, Add ICE Presenter, audio clips, PowerPoint Presentations, Flash, etc. hyperlink within the text box to have a multimedia delivery of course material. The unit allows any type of file upload into the GLS for that unit. The Page Content Edit allows the Course Developer and System Administrator to edit the home page or news page for a particular group or all groups across the GLS. A WYSIWYG aids in the formatting of content. The Image & File Gallery allows the Course Developer and System Administrator to upload, manage and delete files and images. The FAQ feature allows the Course Developer and System Administrator to add both questions and answers to FAQ for a particular lesson from the drop down list. The Course Developer and System Administrator can also list and search FAQs for a particular lesson. The Quiz feature allows the Course Developer and System Administrator to add a new quiz to a particular unit. The Course Developer and System Administrator can also choose the type of quiz, number of questions, passing grade, number of retakes, durations and to display the grade to the learner once the quiz is complete. The Manage Quiz feature allows the Course Developer and System Administrator to modify, delete, add additional questions and search questions in a quiz. The Manage Config feature allows the System Administrator to upload a logo for the GLS. As well there are three front-end design templates, and two templates for certificates to choose from. The System Administrator can also add specific details about the GLS such as Organizer’s name, title, e-learning email or they can upload a signature. As well the System Administrator can change the background color of course boxes. The Help feature is available to Coaches, Course Developer’s and the System Administrator. The help files provide explanations of all the functions within the GLS. Learners Access to the GLS: The GLS is equipped with secured system level access. This means that the Learner has access to only the curriculum in the front end of the system. There is no method of altering or modifying the content or functionality of the GLS.
